Coffee Siphons are all the rage in the coffee world these days. These easy to use SIPHONS brew fantastic coffee without the use of the typical counter top automatic coffee maker. Once you experience the flavor and richness of your favorite coffee brewed through the Northwest Glass line on Coffee Syphons, you will wonder why you ever purchased that old paper weight of a coffee maker sitting on your counter.
The Northwest Glass Coffee Siphons are easy to use as you will see in this mini demonstration... you can also see Coffee Geek for more information.
Grab your favorite fine ground coffee and break out the Northwest Glass Coffee Siphon.
Each Siphon comes with a set of reusable filter covers to cover the metal permanent filter. To assemble, simply place the fabric filter on the opposite side as the spring. Pull the strings as seen at the bottom right of this image to surround the metal filter.
Drop the filter with cover into the siphon until the ball chain hangs through the neck at the bottom of the siphon. Pull the chain until the hook can be looped over the end as seen here.
Using the spoon provided, spoon heaping spoon fulls of you favorite coffee into the siphon. To brew aproximately 8 cups using the 8 cup coffee siphon, 8 heaping spoon fulls are required, for the 5 cup, 5 spoonfuls. Use the corresponding mark on the coffee pot and fill to that level with water.
Place siphon on coffeepot and place together on burner. Heat over Medium or Medium High heat.
As the water boils, it will be sucked up into the coffee siphon to mix with the coffee grounds brewing an amazing pot of coffee.
When the majority of water has been sucked into the Coffee Syphon, continue to let brew another 1-10 minutes, depending on your taste.
Remove the Coffee Pot and Siphon from heat. As the pot cools, the brewed coffee will return to the Coffee pot and only the grounds will be left in the siphon above.
When coffee has returned to pot leaving only the grounds in the Coffee Siphon remove the Siphon and place in the included Siphon Holder.
Find your favorite coffee cup and prepare... today is the first day of the rest of your life. You will never again want to use that paper weight machine sitting on your counter. |
